Born in an age of segregation and racial inequality, Martin Luther King fought to make the idea that "all men are created equal" a reality. This pioneer and leader of the Civil Rights Movement used non-violent resistance to bring to light the harsh reality of racism and injustice. His courageous life and martyr's death have made him a national and historic hero. As a national holiday, school will be out Monday, January 16, 2017 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Classes resume Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
